“Ghostly Acts” – 30th Sep 2022 at 19:00-20:00

The performance “Ghostly Acts” explores the specter of caste and violence. In this performance, Durga Bishwokarma will explore notions of caste, particularly ideas around purity and pollution. Switching between personal, political, and personal-political,  and covers multiple spatial, temporal, and subjective geographies to complicate the idea of identity and belonging.

“Collective Mandala”  – Kulturnatt 9th Sep 2022, Fredrikstad, 

Bli med på å tegne på en gigantisk mandala på Trosvikstranda torg! Durga Bishwokarma er en nepalsk kunstner som har lang erfaring med kollektive kunstverk. Etter å ha tatt sin mastergrad ved Akademi for scenekunst, er hun nå i god gang med å etablere seg i Fredrikstad. Våren og sommeren 2022 er hun hospitant ved Østfold Internasjonale Teater. Bishwokarma vil etablere rammen, men detaljene i det fargerike bildet formes av dere som deltar: Alle, fra de yngste til de eldste, er invitert til å bidra!

“Hospitant Artist” 2022 – ØIT

Performance artist Durga Bishwokarma is the first ever intern at Østfold International Teater.

The internship has been established by Viken County Municipality to strengthen the opportunities for young artists and talents in the culture sector starting their career. Durga has lived in Fredrikstad since 2015 and completed her MA in performance at the Norwegian Theatre Academy in 2020. She was born in Nepal, where she has worked for eight years in film, radio and different theatre companies…
